Cheers guys, seeing as it is now helps forget the arse ache of getting different bits to fit and hours spent using fine wire wool to get a square inch of dove blue to show.
A big thanks must be given Ian68 and his engineering/machining skills as I needed thrust washers made up when rebuilding my spindles and spacers to fit IRS discs to long spline axles.

Congrats - it's VERY satisfying when you finally get there isn't it.

It's just one of those really shitty, stick at it jobs, but SO rewarding to have a bus in og paint. 8)

My wonderful other half decided that my ratty torn original bench seat was in too much of a state to use, I thought it was ok, but what do I know.

We used the original as a template and used the original seat inner stuff as it was in such good condition for 53, also it was just a quick job to see how it went. The cover mirrors the original even down to fitting new wirte to tighten it.

Thanks to Mr Clarke Rubber and his automotive vinyl on sale, I think Gemma has done a fantastic job considering that sewing is just a hobby. The seat is a little lumpy because of using the inner stuff again, we could have done it properly, but just a quick job. All in, took about 3 hours from start to back in the van, some of that was prepping and repainting the frames.

Interior panels next just to use up the vinyl we have left

the bus is looking soooo sweet. Dove blue really is class! Your carbs came up great. Could you tell us about your soda blaster? How did you go about making it?

For the soda blaster, you need some clear tube about 3/8th diameter, a couple of feet long, shorter is better, within reason and a trigger air nozzle, the sort you have to stick in your carbs to blow them out after the bicarb has gone everywhere. Make a small hole in the clear tube so that you can stick the nozzle in. The clear tube must extend past the end of the nozzle by about an inch. Use tape to secure the tube to the nozzle and seal the hole in the clear tube. Stick the other end of the clear tube in the baking soda, I bought 4 boxes from Woolies, just enough to do both carbs.
I stuck the carbs at a bottom of failry deep cardboard box and went for it, mask and goggles is much needed, the soda isn't harmful, but it's like snorting sherbet dip and gets everywhere. After you're happy, dismantle the carbs as much as possible and soak it hot/warm water, this dissolves any soda and stops blocked jets.
