Yeah I am really confident that this will work , just make the gearshift a bit longer so it’s level with the seat

Bumper trial fit, the corners are cut short and the bumper fits under it

Re: 61 split ute
Trans still has the beetle shifter housing so now the shift rod goes above the treasure chest floor, and the square section in the floor is for the engine cooler and electric fuel pump and filter

Re: 61 split ute
I’ll fit all my parts on it , like wiring, suspension , brakes and do the interior, then strip it down and paint it, today got the engine lid on, the gaps are huge but for some reason I don’t care, I’ll get that rear bumper bolted on then move on to the front

Clutch pedal mods for raised steering box, so basically the steering shaft is now the stop for the pedal

Got the shifter hooked up and working, moved the seat base back and bent the shift rod forward, I won’t have to cut the seat now

Re: 61 split ute
Started on the handbrake, moved the seat over to the passenger side for a bit more clearance, if I adjust it so it does about 3 clicks it just comes above the seat

Re: 61 split ute
I like it Wiz. Does the shifter and seat position make it a little tight when selecting reverse?

You’re a goddamn wizard.
The OG split handbrake set up is one of the worst ever designed, that will make Jill starts so much easier but it’s going to be weird doing handbrake turns with your right hand.
