G'day, I just wanted to say a quick hello and let you all know that I am not far away from getting my first Splittie! I have purchased a 1967 13 window deluxe from the States and its not far off getting shipped over.
I used to have a 1976 beetle and my dad was a panel beater for years so hopefully we can work through some the basics together. I was lucky enough to meet up with some of the QLD crew on their cruise to Caloundra not long ago, nice bunch who were happy to listen to an over enthusiastic newbie
Get yourself along to the Etta pub on Sunday ( 10am ) for the cruise up to Ricks Diner in Palmwoods, looks like a really good crew making it so come along and say hello to everyone.

My bus has arrived after a day of dramas: Tyre blowing on my ute on the highway whilst hauling it back home, shipping company has lost my key to lock the doors and for awhile the ports had misplaced some of the parts/boxes I had inside the bus.
I have stripped the tired middle seat and restoration has begun, refurbished speedo gets put in this afternoon and 'some' panel work on a mushy sill and front floor pan begins in the next couple of weeks.
