Newbie to Perth

Post by btg »

Hey guys, popped on a bit in the past, but never posted, have been on Kombi konnection and kombi club a few times.

We Moved to Perth from the Uk in March, have brought over our '66 (Kenny)
Should be collecting him on Tuesday to get ready for rego.
Got him off the Samba in 2004 and imported to the UK from Arizona, he was bog standard but i've played a bit.

Now running a new mexico motor on twin 40's, straight axle rear end, CB 2" narrowed beam and dropped spindles.
Single bench in the rear, working out a makeshift seat so he's sleepable.
8)

As soon as he's rego, likely to pretty much be a daily driver, so should be seen out and about a lot.
Looking forward to catching up with the Perth mob soon.

Well done mate, the bus sure has done some miles chasing you down... and then following you!
Imagine what you would do if you knew you couldn't fail.

Cheers '67

The big day has finally arrived, off to Canning vale to pick him up from the shippers. First time seeing since he was put in the container.
Just hoping he's the same as he went in, bit worried the company and cleaners weren't that careful.

Post the first of the 'In Oz' pics later.

See ya

Cheers for the welcome,

Looking forward to getting mobile, got him home, minus a cargo door handle thanks to the shipping company (another new bit to buy).

Now to make sure he's sorted for rego.

Will keep a look out for you - We'll be the ones frantically waving from the freelander.... :P

For the locals...what's your first name..?

Did they need the cargo handle more than you? or did they strap the bus down by the handle?

Cheers Tony, I'm Baz...

Eventually settled after the cargo door handle, off to see if I can find a replacement on Tuesday.
Checking out the regs for the rego, see if he's going to need a bit of tweeking

Looking at the rego test in about three weeks, move house shortly so getting everything ready for that.

After that, will be out and about as often as possible.

See you around

Baz
