Re: 55 microbus
Well its about time for another update
Have been chipping away in the evenings after work and when I can on the weekends
Been trying to get the passenger side rear floor and sill done. Not quite done and keep finding little bits to do before I can do the main stuff. Fabbing the bottom of the B and C posts and sill strengthener.
Wasn’t sure what to do about the hole in the tophat for the shift rod, as no tube being a 55. In the end the section from the original cleaned up and put it in the middle of the new

Re: 55 microbus
Remade the bottom of the bulkhead (center section) so now can weld on the top hat, and will complete the sides after B posts are done before the doglegs.
Top hat is now on but didn’t get a pic
Also had to repair a section of a heater cable tube and cut back the clutch tube, this was rusted where it went through the cross member. Will fix that one later

Bottom of C post and then trial fitted the sill, I still had the doors on to check alignment. Doors are now off, all bolts removed and plates taped out

Re: 55 microbus
Onto the B post bottom
Made up the inner piece and welded in so now the post is held in place to the inner sill. Had a go at making the outer its only about 150mm long, 1st attempt was ok but wasn’t really happy with the curve. Wasn’t very smooth, was trying to talk myself into it but in the end started again.
2nd attempt is going well but not done yet but getting there

Re: 55 microbus
Finished off the bottom of the inner B post and completed the new outer patch ready to be attached.
Not going to put the outer on until I have fixed a hole on the inside of the post just above the bulkhead, not sure why but someone made a big hole right where the semaphore goes. While I’m at it I will put a mount for a seatbelt in the post. Will be much easier to clear any crap out before the bottom gets sealed up
